- Close the game.
Windows 10 and earlier: Open the NVIDIA Control Panel from Windows Search or by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting “NVIDIA Control Panel”.
Windows 11: Open the NVIDIA Control Panel from Windows Search or by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting “Show more options” and then selecting “NVIDIA Control Panel”.- In the “3D Settings” folder, open the “Manage 3D Settings” category.
- In the “Global Settings” tab, find the “Shader Cache Size” option in the list and select “Disabled”.
Click “Apply” in the bottom-right corner of the window.
In Windows Search, find the Disk Cleanup application and open it.
- In the window that opens, select the drive where the system is installed and click OK. In most cases, this will be C drive.
- In the new window, make sure only the box next to “DirectX Shader Cache” is checked.
Click “OK” in the window that opens, then click “Delete Files.”
Open File Explorer and enter %localappdata% in the address bar and press Enter. The ...\AppData\Local\ folder will open.
Open the NVIDIA folder, then the GLCache folder, and delete all of its contents. If the folder is empty or does not exist, skip this step.
- Return to the ...\AppData\Local\ folder by clicking on Local in the address bar.
Open the “D3DSCache” folder and delete all of its contents. If the folder is empty or does not exist, skip this step.
- Open the ...\AppData\LocalLow\ folder by clicking on AppData in the address bar and opening the LocalLow\ folder, or by entering “%localappdata%low” without quotation marks in the address bar.
Open the NVIDIA folder and delete the contents of the DXCache\ folder or the PerDriverCache\DXCache folder. If the folder is empty or does not exist, skip this step.
- If a warning appears, click OK. If any files cannot be deleted, restart your computer and try deleting them again. If any files still cannot be deleted, proceed to the next step.
- Open the ...\AppData\Roaming\ folder by clicking on AppData in the address bar and opening the Roaming\ folder, or by entering %appdata% in the address bar.
Open the NVIDIA folder and delete the contents of the ComputeCache\ folder. If the folder is empty or does not exist, skip this step.
- Open the Nvidia Control Panel by repeating step 2, but this time set the “Shader Cache Size” option to “Driver Default”. Click “Apply”.
